Button Style

2-Button Single

The most common and versatile button style for single-breasted jackets. It features two buttons, with the top button typically fastened while the bottom button remains undone. This style is clean and simple, creating a classic silhouette.

  • Best for: Business suits, casual blazers, and formal events.
  • Why choose it: If you want a modern, go-to option that works for most occasions, the 2-button jacket is the standard.
  •

    3-Button Single

Refined and versatile, this suit is ideal for both business and formal wear.

A 3-button jacket has a slightly higher button stance than the 2-button style. Traditionally, only the middle button is fastened (or sometimes the top two buttons), while the bottom one remains undone. This style can add height to the appearance, making it a good choice for taller men.

  • Best for: More formal occasions or for men seeking a slightly more conservative look.
  • Why choose it: Choose a 3-button style if you prefer a slightly more structured, formal look that elongates the torso.

  • 4-Button Single

Rare in modern suits, jackets with 4 or more buttons are sometimes seen in fashion-forward designs or very specific styles, often in vintage or avant-garde tailoring.

  • Best for: Fashion-forward or alternative style statements.
  • Why choose it: If you're going for an unconventional look or a unique, bold statement, a jacket with more buttons might be the way to stand out.

  • 6x2-Button Double

The most traditional and common style for double-breasted jackets. It features six buttons on the front, with two functioning buttons (typically, only the top one of the two is fastened). This style is structured and formal, often associated with classic and power suits.

  • Best for: Business suits, formal events, and traditional formalwear.
  • Why choose it: The 6x2 button configuration exudes confidence and is perfect for making a strong, formal impression.

  • 4x2-Button Double

This style features four buttons on the front, with two functioning buttons. The 4x2 setup is less common but offers a sleeker, more modern take on the double-breasted jacket while still maintaining formality.

  • Best for: More modern formalwear, for someone looking for a sharp, tailored look without being overly traditional.
  • Why choose it: If you want the sophistication of a double-breasted suit but with a more contemporary edge, the 4x2 configuration offers a balance between formal and modern.
  •

    2x1-Button Double

A minimalist take on the double-breasted jacket, the 2x1 style features two buttons, with only one functioning button. This style is less common but offers a sleek and modern alternative to the more traditional 6x2 or 4x2 configurations.

  • Best for: Fashion-forward or casual double-breasted blazers.
  • Why choose it: Choose the 2x1 if you're looking for a minimalist, modern interpretation of the double-breasted style without the structure and formality of additional buttons.

    1-Button Single

The 1-button jacket is a minimalist style often found in formalwear, especially in tuxedos and evening jackets. This design has a sleek, clean appearance with a single button placed at the waist, creating an elongated, streamlined look. It’s typically used in formal settings but can also work in fashion-forward business suits. The simplicity of the one-button closure draws attention to the cut and fit of the suit.

  • Best for: Black-tie events, tuxedos, formal business suits.
  • Why choose it: Choose a 1-button jacket when you want a sharp, modern silhouette. Its minimalist approach offers a refined, elegant aesthetic, especially for formal occasions.
