I’ll never forget meeting a young man who came in for his very first tailored suit. He had just started a new career, nervous about stepping into boardrooms where every handshake seemed heavier than his résumé. He told me he needed a suit that would “fit better than his fears.”

When he slipped into that jacket, something shifted. His shoulders relaxed, but his stance grew taller. He looked at himself in the mirror — really looked — and for the first time, he smiled with certainty. Later, he wrote to tell me that the suit carried him through his first big presentation. “They listened to me differently,” he said. “And I spoke differently too.”

This is why dressing matters. Clothes do more than cover — they carry. They remind us of dignity, of self-respect, and of the strength to move forward even when life feels uncertain.
